Hotel Planeta
Prospekt Pobediteley 31 (Победителей 31)

Prices: Singles from122,900br/$61, Doubles from 135,800/$73
Traditionally a popular hotel with visiting international football teams this was always considered one of the better hotels in town. Times have changed and better quality is available but the prices here are competitive.
This is the furthest from the centre of the triangle of three Soviet-era hotels in this part of town. That said the main restaurants on Prospekt Pobediteley are only a ten minute walk away. If you’re not very energetic then there’s plenty of choice closer than this.
Hotel Belarus,
Starozhevskaya 15 (Сторожевская 15)

Prices: Singles from €46, Doubles from €62
If it’s a room with a view that you’re after then look no further. This 22 floor building, perched on a hill offers spectacular views, especially at the restaurant on the top floor, which is worth a visit, even if it’s just for a drink. This place retains a certain Soviet-era aura, especially the reception area, which incidentally has wi-fi. The rooms are pretty comfortable and I’ve never heard any complaints from the many people I know who have stayed here.
It’s a five minute walk through landscaped gardens to Prospekt Pobediteley or a 10 minute stroll along the river bank to the old town. There’s never any shortage of taxis outside. If you only go to one night club while you’re in town make sure it's the Westworld Club, which is attached to the hotel.

Prospect Podetiteley 19 (Проспект Победителей 19)
Prices: Singles from $82, Doubles from $106, an extra $10 per room with air conditioning.
Popular choice with many foreigner visitors. Most of the rooms are pretty comfortable although blue walls and orange curtains in some numbers may not be to everybodys taste.
The closest to the city centre of the five hotels in this part of town. It’s handy for some of the city’s best restaurants. Nemiga metro station is a 7-8 minute walk away.
Hotel Otyabrskaya
Engelsa 13 (Энгельса 13)
Prices: Singles from $60, Doubles from $70.
It always seems a little quiet here, which is strange as the location is perfect and the facilties are fine. The interior is classic Soviet chic, especially the restaurant.
It’s in the heart of the city, and located behind the Presidential Administration. Close to some of the most popular restaurants and bars and within walking distance of the railway station if you don’t have too much baggage. Gorky Park is just down the road if you fancy an evening walk.
Hotel Orbita
Pushkina 39 (Пушкина 39)

Prices: Singles from €50, Doubles from €56.
Fits perfectly into the basic but functional category and attracts quite a lot of foreign visitors.
Although in the western suburbs it’s right by Pushkinskaya metro station, from where it’s only 10 minutes to the centre. So it’s actually more convenient than some more central hotels, which aren’t so close to metro stations and therefore involve more walking. Near the subway exits you’ll find a branch of MacDonalds, Pizzafut, which is a football themed pizza place that shows live matches, and Coffee City, which as well as hot and cold drinks sells sushi and salad. Around the back of the hotel you’ll find a local produce market, a cinema and nightclub and an ice-hockey stadium.
40 Let Pobedi
Azgura 3 (Азгура 3)
Prices: Singles from $80, doubles from $110.
This name of this place translates as 40 Years of Victory, which suggests it opened around 1985. It actually feels a lot older than that and overall it charges average prices for less than average quality. Frankly it’s a bit shabby.
Looking at this place on a map it seems quite central but it’s not. You’re actually in a residential area but not too far from a tram stop and 10 minutes walk from the rear entrance to Gorky Park.
U Fontana
Amuratorskaya 4 (Амураторская 4)

Prices: Singles from $58, doubles from $82
This small hotel is a bit hidden away but worth seeking out, if only for the excellent outdoor café that operates in the summer. Don’t take a view overlooking it if you fancy an early night at the weekend. It’s fair to say that this is the closest you’ll get to a guest house in Minsk.
It’s not in the suburbs but it can’t be described as central. In fact it’s not really close to anywhere and as it’s pretty small you won’t find any taxis outside so you’ll have to order one at reception. Just around the corner is a small bar called ‘Beer’, which is a classic example of a small suburban Soviet beer bar. It’s bound to be full of drunks, albeit of the harmless Belarusian variety. Just down the road you’ll find Vesa Sushi, a popular Sushi takeaway joint.
