Where to Stay
The opening of three major hotels in the last 18 months has transformed the market in Minsk. There had always been plenty of hotels but there had rarely been much choice in terms of facilities. These new developments, together with the refurbishment of some Soviet-era hotels mean travellers now have real choice. Hotels can roughly be divided into three categories:
- Premium: A business standard hotel with all the associated facilities that you’d expect.
- Mid-range: Basic but clean and functional.
- Budget: Best avoided unless you’ve previous experience of hotels in the former USSR.
Prices quoted are as per the hotel web-site if there is one. I recommend you consult these as prices are subject to change. All the sites linked in this section have English language sections.
In each entry I’ve described the hotel’s location and noted attractions and useful facilities so you know a bit about the area that you could be staying in. These entries will always be more accurate than the descriptions on the hotel web-sites where most seem to consider themselves to be located in the centre, regardless of the reality.
