Aeroplane
Minsk 2 is a grim and officious old place but they’re trying their best to make it more user friendly. There are less musty smelling corridors, more places to get cash (exchange offices and ATMs), an information desk and car rental facilities.
There’s little to make you want to hang around here and you’re still 42km from Minsk. Buses depart hourly from early morning to 11pm but you’ll probably find it quicker and easier to get a taxi. Expect to pay about 100,000br.
Minsk 1 was a small airport a couple of kilometres south of the city centre, used mainly for flights within the old USSR. It closed a couple of years ago and the site will be turned into ‘Minsk City’, a business and residential complex.
Bus timetable to Minsk
I'm reliaby informed that buses run at the following times. * indicates that the bus only runs in summer, although I have yet to find a definition of summer and winter. I'm assuming it's when the clocks change but assumptions can always be dangerous in Belarus. If you have the choice then going to the Moscovski Avtovokzal will always be more convenient as it's closer to a metro station. See Arriving by bus for more info on the bus stations. Journey time is approximately 40 minutes.
